From glitzy galas to black-tie boxing, enjoy a night out while giving back

Picture​Fundraising event season has officially kicked off here in Winnipeg. Whether you’re looking for a charity to align your business with or a team outing for your staff, supporting local and giving back is a great way to do so!

If you’re looking to get more involved, make sure to ask event organizers about sponsorship or volunteer opportunities that may be available to you and your business. Attending these events is also a great way to see what others are doing a help spark a fresh idea for your next event.

Here are three local fundraisers to add to your calendar:

Dream Factory Dream Maker Auction- Friday, April 26

The Dream Factory is celebrating the 25th year of the Dream Maker Auction and it’s sure to be a magical evening! Being their largest annual fundraiser, the incredible silent auction, games and draws are just a few of the exciting parts of the night.

The Dream Maker Auction takes place on Friday, April 26 at the RBC Convention Centre. Tickets and sponsorships are still available starting at $200/ person.

About the Dream Factory:
The Dream Factory is a charitable organization dedicated to fulfilling dreams for children who are battling life-threatening illnesses, right here in Manitoba. Since 1983, they’ve made more than 700 children’s dreams come true with the average cost of a dream costing over $10,000. All monies raised from events like the Dream Maker Auction and other fundraising initiatives throughout the year will benefit a child and their family, right here in Manitoba.

Fight for Charity- Saturday, April 27

A black tie event featuring gourmet food, casino games, live music and, boxing? That’s what Fight for Charity is all about. The event began back in 2017 and involves 12-weeks of intense training for the amateur boxers from Pan Am Boxing elite coaches as they train for the big night. In their first year, the sold-out event, a first of its kind here in Winnipeg, raised $25,000 and has continued to grow since. This year, their goal is to raise $50,000 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg.

The fights go down on Saturday, April 27 at the RBC Convention Centre. Tables and individual tickets are still available for purchase starting at $222.50/ person.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg facilitates life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens. They provide children with mentors for friendship, support and guidance with the goal of providing a mentor for every child who needs one in Winnipeg.

Wine Festival- Sunday, April 28-Saturday, May 4

The Winnipeg Wine Festival is back for another year featuring of course, all things wine. The Festival features the ever-popular, Inspire Gala Dinner & Auction and public tasting with several complimenting WineDown events leading up to the big weekend. New this year, the Gala will feature a country theme, Wines from Spain, with aromatic wines and a Spanish inspired meal. Whether you like dry red or sweet white, there is a Wine Festival event for you.

Wine Festival runs from April 28-May 4 and tickets range from $40-$75 for the WineDown events, $73-$130 for the Public Tastings and $250/ person for the Inspire Gala with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Winnipeg.

Special Olympics Winnipeg is dedicated to enriching the lives of Manitobans living with intellectual disabilities through sport. Ex-NHL hockey player Ted Irvine brought the concept of Special Olympics to Manitoba in the 1970s and the organization has continued to grow since then. They are dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for individuals with an intellectual disability.
