#WpgSmallBiz Forum Recap

October 15, 2018
Local business leaders shared their marketing experiences at our Small Business Forum last month at the Delta Hotel. The forum was emceed by Ibrahim Khan, Founder and CEO of Green Carrot Juice Co. and Shawarma Khan. Khan facilitated the marketing panel to a crowd of over 275 people with expertise from Susie Parker, Principal at SPARKER Strategy Group; Kyle Romaniuk, Principal at Vantage Studios Inc.; and Adam Dooley, President of Dooley Communications.

3 TAKE-AWAYS FROM #WPGSMALLBIZS:

1. Make your mark
Think of your online footprint as your resume. Use your social media accounts to share your story online and listen to what your customers are saying online.

2. Avoid common mistakes
Don’t try to do it all – look at influential/reputable companies and see what they’re doing well and try to replicate it. And, invest time early on to work on your strategy before seeking help from agencies.

3. Low marketing budget?
The best bang for your buck is through Facebook and Google reviews. When boosting social media posts, make sure you target your market well. And, partnering with a local charity is a great way to collect good PR on a low budget.

On Behalf of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, we’d like to thank our sponsors for helping create such amazing events:
